Over 60. Feels like everything I thought I knew has been turned upside down. Cancer survivor.

Likes: Vintage Toys, 70s stuff, MST3K and spinoffs, Terry Pratchett, absurdist humor, kindness, Kansas Jayhawks, KC Chiefs

Other than some outdated textbooks, I always pass my unwanted books along, rather than dumping them in the trash or recycling.

About ten years ago, I made an exception for Scott Adams.

I'm too lazy to look up how to take a screenshot on this tablet, so my word for 2026 is.... AGAIN?

I take a small amount of comfort from the fact that while I know who this is about, I don't know (and don't want to know) any of the specifics.
Happy New Year and hope you all celebrated last night like an evangelical Christian whose husband was just assassinated

My New Year's Day resolution: I'm not going to drag you down with my crushing depression and anxiety over (waves arms) all of this.

But tomorrow is another day.

Chiefs-Titans is the only game I can watch in the early window.

I probably deserve that.

The #1 movie when you were 10 is how your 2026 is going to go.

So I'm either going to be eaten by a shark, or narrowly avoid being eaten by a shark. That tracks.

It's been a couple of weeks. Let's see if I'm ready to deal with the political hot takes that sneak into my feed no matter how hard I try to keep them out.

I'm just tired, boss.

One of my low-key hobbies is collecting cheap One Sheets and Lobby Cards for movies I've seen on MST3K. (emphasis on the cheap) I picked some beauties up at an antique show this weekend.

First: The Killer Shrews! I guess the dogs covered in carpets didn't photograph well.

I was 24 in 1989. IIRC, I had gone retro and was listening to "Who's Next" and the like for a couple of years.
People need to stop retconning literally the worst era in American popular music history into something it wasn't, just because there were also some amazing records that like 250 people happened to be hunting down and listening to

It's been several years since the Chiefs offense was this much fun to watch. Amazing what a healthy recieving corps and finding a couple of guys who can actually play LT can do.

Hmm. I believe this pumpkin patch lacks a certain..... sincerity.

Try again next year.

I see the "person in every television commercial" crown has been passed to Heidi Gardner.

Butker's wife would have made that PAT, if he'd let her out of the kitchen.

If you enjoy infomercials from 15+ years ago, this Iowa State - Cincinnati game is for you!

The local ad spots must have been unsellable in most areas.

I've been in Sicily all week (and holy shit do I not want to leave) so seeing you people post FROM THE PAST is really trippy.

Centrist Dems would rather attract eight Republican voters and still lose, when they could move their policies about fifteen inches to the left and bring hundreds of thousands of disaffected voters to the polls and win.

Billionaire money. It's a drug.

The New York Times is not your friend. Never has been, never will be. Stop expecting it to act like one.

Yeeeah, I think I'm just going to keep my thoughts to myself this evening.

Except about cheese. Cheese is good.
