Fwiw, you can say you're all for Indigenous consultation, but when you sign a MOU without any consultation it's all lip service and putting Indigenous nations against 'progress' etc. Classic colonial ploy. And when this keeps happening with Carney, it's a pattern.

Or maybe we could stop pretending like Carney isn't himself a massive advocate of resource extraction as a means to 'unity', that him and Smith actually align on this, and this is them saying so, other provinces and Indigenous nations who disagree be damned.

Look, I'm no politician, but how about speaking up against her usage of the notwithstanding clause for everything she doesn't like, and how what she doesn't like (trans rights, labour rights) are foundational human rights within the country that he leads? I dunno, a ten second idea I came up with...

He's told us what he stands for, time and again (resource extraction as a tool for unity, those who disagree be damned!). It's time we started to believe him and hold him to account...

Oh no, you mistake me. I don't want him to ignore her, I want him to stand up to her! Mistake was probably on your end, I was pretty clear...

You don't have to agree with everything someone does because 'they were elected'. Many bad people with bad policies have been elected, from Hitler to Trump.

I have! And, I'm assuming by your attempt at a 'gotcha' question, that you have too.

If politics is a game where those already made most vulnerable are sacrificed in the name of unity, then I'm okay being against these political games...

Brought to you by yet another person telling me it's no big deal that #Carney wants to support another pipeline despite not consulting Indigenous people, and supporting a million resource extraction projects under the guise of 'nation building'....

Which is probably the point of his games, but also why I'm so angry and protesting his political games...

It's yet another instance in the ballooning book of instances where #Carney talks an #elbowsup game, but does everything in his power to acquiesce to deeply conservative bad faith actors.

And it's the already vulnerable that suffer the most for his actions, not his banking friends in high places.

But in the process, he is legitimizing and laying down cover for Danielle Smith. Standing beside her and saying that he wants to work with her. And, for me, that's worth discussing, worth holding him to account over, worth protesting that it's not right.

They are undermining unions, democracy, trans and human rights, environmental protections, and much much more. All of those things matter.

And #Carney is out there playing politics, you say. Playing chess, a game. Maybe he is.

That's a lot more bucks than expected or is perhaps ideal, but definitely sets a particular tone for the team: they aren't messing around!

I'm starting to suspect the learning component is all a ruse 😂
