Mancunian. Keen interest in all things WW1. Lover of loud music. Mum to Eric Bear. Womb cancer survivor. Refugee from the other place.
No DMs as I'm not happy about doing this identification stuff.
Eric used to model himself on the great man 😉

Well I’ve not got one but Mum bought herself one from M&S 🙄so I shall be closely supervising the opening. Actually this is the second one as the first is still in an Evri depot somewhere 🤔

That's lovely. I have acquired these through the family somewhere and I understand they are Whitby jet mourning necklaces. I see them on photos quite often too.

I use this recipe from an old Cranks book and its fairly foolproof for me. I substitute golden syrup for treacle and I add a drop or two of vanilla essence before the oats. Sometimes if the mix is too wet it sets hard - try missing out some of the oats - say 25g - and substituting oat meal.

On this day in 1918 my great uncle, Private Edgar Wood, was killed at Villers-Outreaux near Cambrai while fighting with the Welsh Regiment. He was 20 years old. He is buried in the tiny cemetery of Moulin-de-Pierre with 47 others who died that day.
