I presented the news with a plan to roast slices of turkey that I could carve off of the bird. It mostly worked and kept us on time, but with me on fairly constant roasting duty through the first half of dinner.

It ended up being a funny story, but a lot of panic in the moment. (3/3)

Now, my ex-wife was very proud of her organization and planning for this event, and very invested in having things go well. When I got the status of the turkey at the store, I was... concerned... about breaking the news.

I broke the news, and it wasn't so bad... (2/x)

My now-ex-wife and I were hosting Thanksgiving in our home for both our families for the first time. She ordered what she thought was a fully-cooked turkey from Wegmans. I was sent to pick it up about an hour before our appointed dinnertime.

I get to Wegmans, and the turkey is... thawing... (1/x)

I don't know that KARR was really trying to destroy humanity. It was just really just trying to survive in a world trying to kill it off.

As a Gen X nerd, I can’t offer a meaningful response to this. But, yes, there’s a reason all of our most insightful speculative fiction has a take on AI that involves it destroying humanity in some way.

Except Knight Rider.

And in VA, even deep red districts moved left. My ancestral homeland went +38 for Sears, but that was still a 7 point or so shift left.

Based on early returns I thought a pickup of 10 seats. This is incredible.

Didn’t this guy complain about a small interview edit being election interference and he’s out here threatening NYC and insulting voters?

A touchdown seems a more efficient way to get six, but it's hard to argue with points.

Are we sure he and his son aren’t on a news accountability app instead of a porn accountability app? It sure seems like he’s really doing a stellar job of avoiding watching any current events coverage.

Are US service members murdering people on Hegseth's orders? What gives him any authority to order these actions?

So it wasn’t so much the “story” as it was quibbles with the colloquial use of a familial honorific, correct? Vastly different things.

It seems less like "forcing the issue" and more like "unchecked destruction of a building owned by the American people".
