Trump says a “fine-tuned” (lol) peace plan has “only a few remaining points of disagreement,” but then cautions that any Putin–Zelensky summit is hardly imminent. Moscow has stayed mostly silent throughout this whole process, which makes real progress hard to imagine.

Trump claims his team has made “tremendous progress” on ending the war in Ukraine, stating only a few points of disagreement remain. He’s sending Witkoff to Moscow and Driscoll to meet with Ukrainians. Trump says he’ll meet with Zelensky and Putin only when a deal is nearly finalized.

It was already appallingly serious to imagine that they had received a Russian draft and had taken it over directly without saying a word... It is yet another level of abominable seriousness to imagine that they might actually have written it themselves...
Not only are there serious conflicts of interest, but it’s also a major national security issue that someone like Jared Kushner, who has no official role, is allowed to negotiate such matters

Macron says that after a peace deal is signed, "assurance forces" will be deployed beyond the front line, including in Kyiv and Odesa. Nearly 20 countries, among them the UK, France, and Turkey are ready. These won’t be NATO forces but a multilateral coalition acting like NATO’s eastern flank.
