The "killed nonviolently" part of it got me stuck.

I think the words for that is "oxymoron" - two words together that don't work together.

I legit thought this was like, "Victims of Gandhi's non-violence campaign" or something... but I think I understand and agree with the principle at the heart.

Really what they should push for is the $1 annual funding for every vote received in the last election, a policy that Stephen Harper got rid of to ensure that party fundraising (read: corporate donations) would have a greater voice in determining each party's relative financial situation.

This aligns well with their "We won't let Yves Engler run for leadership candidate and participate in the debates" strategy.

The naked maple canuck army may do well in the summer, in places that have less than average mosquitoes, due to the advantage of the surprise of being naked, but winter operations might be a big problem.

Anarchists would let the self-defence forces figure out their own clothes. #SelfOrganization

"Flood the zone with bullshit" is not simply a saying.

awesome!

Well we used to have a better climate too. I think most of us would be happy if we could return to that as we had it before. It would be better than it is now.

Oh but some people think that is awesome framing.

WTF. Isn't a podcast supposed to be each person speaking their own words? If he said he said it, if he didn't he didn't; if Canadaland uses AI to fake someone's voice, well then...
Or for some reason Jesse is reading text that is purportedly from Dave but for some reason isn't in their actual convo?

Do you mean the protests outside the synagogue when it was hosting Israel real estate events, including land in the occupied West Bank - thus it literally being a war crime to be selling those properties?

The most recent one of those got full city protection, with 1-2 blocks all around closed off.

3/ And I forgot to mention that thing about block the Jewish bridge? Well it wasn't the only bridge that was blocked, but the narrative of antisemitism is easier when the other non-Jewish blocked bridges aren't mentioned

I assume you're able to understand these things as problems with your argument

2/ Your other source, Robert Brym, has difficulty distinguishing between activism against Israel and antisemitism:

A BDS action against Israel-affiliated businesses is "anti-Jewish" activism; a march that went all around Toronto is made to seem antisemitic because of one of the places it paused at.

When you start with the premise "Jew-hate in Canada is worse than in most other countries" you need to make sure that's a credible statement.

You've pretty much shot your credibility already... but having a CIJA link to a Terry Glavin article published by Bari Weiss' The Free Press as first source?

Good morning. For this week’s episode of The North State, I sat down with @jessebrown.bsky.social and grilled him on his approach to his new series on antisemitism in Canada. What does Statistics Canada have to say about his attribution? Did he speak to law experts for his Heather Reisman interview?

I heard in China that any influencer who has at least 1 million followers needs to be confirmed as a legitimate expert on the subjects they do.

Maybe he was a mature student who already had various life experience?

(That is most likely a sarcastic comment)

Here is Engler's own response to the NDP bureaucrats claim, “Many of your public positions contradict the NDP’s core commitments to democracy, international law, and solidarity with oppressed peoples” - starting with pointing out how democratic it is to bar a candidate

NDP takes Orwellian world view to deny my candidacy - Yves Engler
Up is down. Right is left. International law is whatever empire says it is. Democracy is following our rules. The audacity, chauvinism and absurdity of the NDP vetting committee is a sight to behold. ...

Sad news just announced :(

I'm not really sure who it was at this point willing to allow it to die, the UO student fee funding got pulled a year and a half ago based on a very low turnout referendum. There didn't seem to be any new plan made since then, nor a large effort at a fundraising campaign.
