Over the past number of weeks, Stacy reworked the site so that it's lighter and better. It even got a design tweak here and there. Screen readers will love the improvements. Some won't notice much different when it goes up this weekend. We're proud to say, it's where we want to be.

The Equal Access Public Media website has gone through a number of changes over time. The first website was donated to us. Our editor @stacykess.bsky.social coded over it to make it accessible, but it kept breaking. And that's where it sort of started.

What makes EAPM different? It's how we center accessibility.

We focus on individuals with disabilities who use alternative methods to access the web, as well as those with low literacy levels. For journalists Creating accessible news outlets, like the National Tab, fosters jobs for journalists with disabilities, chronic illnesses, veterans, and caregivers — individuals who frequently face underemployment.

Men are hospitalized nearly twice as often as women for TBI and are three times more likely to die as a result of TBI. 

Women are more likely to sustain a TBI from intimate partner violence.

Although mild TBIs, known as concussions, usually resolve in a matter of weeks, moderate and severe TBIs can have long-lasting symptoms. Repeat concussions can also result in long-lasting symptoms.
