This also means avoiding picture books (written predominately by whyte authors) that prioritize anthropomorphizing animals as 'diversity' rather than actually just using diverse humans in the book.

I have read everyday for 600 days! As a curriculum specialist, I enjoy reading across the scaffolded reading environment. This means I prioritize picture books that humanize individuals and communities that are often dehumanized in USA media.

Today is one of those days where I’m struck anew by how *bad* the internet has gotten. It’s almost unusable. Clouds, apps, advertising — nothing is where it should be and it’s nigh impossible sometimes to do basic tasks online.

I finished Art Monsters: Unruly Bodies in Feminist Art by Lauren Elkin. This text made me think about Kamela Harris's 107 Days and the picture book Unbound: The Life and Art of Judith Scott by Brie Spangler and Joyce Scott with illustrations by Melissa Sweet.

Remote work/education is one of the biggest disability accommodations we’ve had and yet people dunk on it as “ruining socialisation”.
Because enduring micro aggressions, not being able to go to the bathroom when you want and 💯 attendance awards are all super helpful for child development etc.

Betty Reid Soskin, who served as the country's oldest National Park Service ranger, has died at the age of 104.
Soskin’s family announced her death on Facebook, saying she died peacefully at her home in Richmond, California.
