I have used Julia for reverse proxy work and it felt like another way to do what other scriptable languages can already handle. Since Python/R cover so much ground in data science and numerical computing, is there something truly unique about Julia, or mainly useful if you already know it?

Isn't that just the fallacy of guilt by association? Dismissing Garron's argument simply because a reprehensible person holds a similar or partial view. I don’t fully agree with what he said, but the comments about him read like a social media pile-on.

You must not do that often for it to be flagged as suspicious activity. Proof it was not your everyday then 😜

Unless it came with colcannon.

Like walking through airport customs, knowing you have nothing to declare and are all good, but your effort to look normal makes you seem suspicious. Now you're just hoping they don’t randomly pull you to the side and search your bag.

I agree. Airlines get fined for delays, so it's all about profitability, with efficiency as a side effect (most times, but not always). Encouraging passengers to check in overhead bags speeds up boarding and turnaround times. It’s less about passenger convenience and more about revenue.

Ryanair aims to minimise overhead space usage to speed up boarding and ensure on-time departures. Their model encourages a small under-seat bag and checking in a 10kg bag instead of using overhead bins. If they could, they would remove overhead storage altogether.

Demo apps have a mind of their own, no matter how much you test, they’ll find a way to betray you when it matters most. Unlike production, which usually behaves, demos love throwing you under the bus at the worst possible moment. 😅 Good luck! 🤞

I've seen many 'secure' mail providers come and go. You've made your point clear, but that doesn't change that Proton is still a valid option, especially since it was the one originally considered in the post I replied to. No one is claiming it's the only alternative, just one worth considering.

#Proton is a good choice for email, calendar, and its password manager is better than many others. Its drive/Docs isn’t a full Google Docs replacement yet but is improving. #OnlyOffice is a good open-source option for documents. #Kagi is a useful search alternative with map options.

Widespread indoor smoking.

I haven't really used them in over a decade. Not available on my system and don't need them for work. Well, I lie, Teams now and again when it's a customer setting up the meeting. GitHub as well.
