I’d say this was disappointing, but it was a pretty good scene. I think.

Finally bit the bullet and wrote the death scene. Another 1800 words today.

Do you sometimes have a character suddenly pop into a WIP 40k words or so into it, and you realize you’ll have to go back and write them into earlier sections? Just me?
Another 1.6k words, and they were all pretty good.

Another 1.2k…less than 10k to go to reach the goal.
I hope anyone else with a WIP is doing well, too. I had a moment last night where I thought about giving up writing entirely, but that mood passed. For now, anyway.

I’d have written more but I’m working on a doctor’s report, which requires a fair degree of research to be plausible. To make matters worse, it probably won’t appear in the final manuscript, but I need to complete it for reference at least.

Another 3,100 words. I’ve broken 30k. I usually start thinking of something I’m writing as a “real” novel once I pass that point.

What book inspired your current WIP?
Mine is a trad vampire tale and I was inspired in part by “They Thirst” by Robert R. McCammon and to a lesser extent by “Salem’s Lot.”
Another 2000 words. One third of the way through November and I’m at 27k words!

Are any of the characters in your WIP based on real people?
Mine are loosely based on the people I knew growing up on the 1960s
