I’ve spent years learning to take up space — not just as a queer person, but as a lesbian. For so long, lesbian identity was something I felt I had no right to claim. But this flag — this warm, sunset-colored banner — doesn’t ask for permission. It just exists. Boldly. Publicly. And so do I. Flying it is a way of saying: I’m not hiding. I’m not shrinking. I’m part of a long, beautiful, complicated lineage of women, nonbinary and gender diverse folks who love women. And I’m proud of that.
