Great piece here about the closest analogue to the Trump administration.
Went back to the history of the Sicilian Mafia to illustrate something obvious but worth stating explicitly: The Trump administration behaves like an organized crime syndicate running a protection racket, not a representative government www.theatlantic.com/ideas/2025/1...

I remember when gigacastings were going to revolutionize the auto industry.
I see every Tesla still comes with a complementary lobotomy.

Anytime a CEO starts complaining about the shorts, it’s a strong indicator their company is an overhyped fraud. I believe the correlation is 💯% www.cnbc.com/2025/11/07/p...

Musk destroyed the Tesla brand, launched sales floor poison in the Cybertruck, gutted the product pipeline and sold billions in flawed safety-critical product creating billions in liability. Why wouldn’t he get a trillion $ pay package?

Been at an offsite all week. Had a conversation with an accomplished senior exec about autonomous vehicles and he thought Waymos were Tesla’s autonomous effort. Was firmly convinced Tesla was in the lead. People Iive in their bubbles. 🤦

Somehow the Big Tech response to climate change was to consume as much energy as possible while working on minimally useful tools that are admittedly great at destabilizing democracy, theft and undermining education systems.

Listening to Bloomberg news, they are saying that large American SUVs are having their best sales in 20 years. Clearly the American auto industry is back. Back in the Stone Age.

Corporate America is truly an insular, myopic hell. Management has a vocabulary of ~1,000 words and mid-level staff mindlessly regurgitated them. I see how AI can replace these people - they’re like a 2nd gen LLM.

Listening to Bloomberg radio, it doesn’t sound like anyone can be honest anymore. And I would say that this is true to a greater extent in life. It feels like everyone is pretending and faking how great they are. Or maybe I’ve just gotten old and cynical.

The magical “privately-funded” ballroom.

This is the the best and highest use of money. Every contributing company should be boycotted.
Leavitt: "At this moment in time, of course, the ballroom is really the president's main priority."
