Looks like this was a bug in the Amtrak site. The Thruway Bus from Bakersfield to Riverside is back - though it seems to have less service than last year?
Did the powers that be cancel the Thruway Bus from Bakersfield to Riverside/SB/Ontario? I'm unable to select a trip using that one for any upcoming date.

Hard truth is that protests can be annoying or offensive and still be effective!

Successful democracy movements in the modern era basically require student movements to be successful. Liberal institutions like universities and newspapers, as well as the Dem Party itself, have to learn from this

Yeah I think their problem is they never had a revolution in the modern era. Too much feudalism still baked into the system

In my experience this route is super popular! A lot of people travel between the IE and Central Valley. Unclear why they would cut it. If this is some sort of website bug, that's also an issue. bsky.app/profile/emos...
My bus is packed. Inside, it's similar to the one this morning, but more crowded. Can't wait for the Palmdale HSR tunnels to eliminate this slow, lengthy bus journey!

CAHSR doesn't open for another 7 years! ppl traveling through the Central Valley still need transit options! The state should be beefing up bus service to get people in the habit of connecting to CAHSR, not cutting it.

If this is true I'm likely never riding the Gold Runner for the foreseeable future. Going from 3 trips a day to 1, and adding an extra 2-3 hours to the trip? I'll fly instead. Between this and eliminating the Cafe Car, it's like they don't want people to ride it.

70's tract home SFHs look terrible, new build McMansions look even worse. The boring and austere landscape of suburban neighborhoods is one of the things that makes them less walkable - it's just so dull to be a pedestrian there.

This is a pretty similar situation to what actually killed Pacific Electric - cars clogging the road with traffic made the train slow and inefficient. Allowing robotaxis in bus-only lanes, for instance, is a death sentence.
