Awfae prood tae huv managed tae finish a novel this guid and launch a braw second buik fur bairns durin an itherwise crappy year!

But I did write ‘The Hoolet Thit Couldnae Fly’ during the happiest summer of my life and it’s a tear-jerker too so maybe this is just my style.

They’re very emotional stories because they’re so rooted in life and death. But that doesn’t mean they aren’t happy in their own way!

It was also an extra big win because the last time I spoke in front of hundreds was at Cambridge University – and I went into that relatively blind.

Today I knew the audience size and did it despite not feeling myself! 💪
