Reading this little book of joy. 4 classes of inmates in workhouses - children, able-bodied females, able-bodied males, the aged/'impotent'. So that's why my grandmother & her mother are listed separately. Also, my gran's birth certificate doesn't say she was born in a workhouse. Just an address
