Honestly I fucking loathe the whole idea of "EdTech"
Pushers of technology into education couldn't give a flying fuck about students, educators, education itself, or any of their other so-called "use cases".
They care ONLY about profits. I really wish our execs could perceive this blinding light 😡

NCTE is over double the size of CCCC, but honestly very well run and didn’t feel unmanageable. And lots of panels aren’t relevant to your level(s) or interest(s) so it’s easy to focus on what is relevant.

We got a travel one for our very first plane ride trip, and he just loves it. I recommend it to anybody with kids in their life under 10.

Currently on sale for under $100, and we have a toddler, so -- a Yoto player! A very simple and intuitive digital boombox, with cards instead of CDs to play music.

But NCTE & CCCC are really the "home" bases for me. CCCC's vibes can be a little desperate though re: the job market [SO many PhD students. SO much jockeying], whereas NCTE does not feel job market focused, which makes sense given that it's PreK-16.
