Just echoing others in saying that "you don't have to give hugs" is standard policy among my group of fellow parents. Honestly it's so standard that I would be surprised if I heard that someone was pushing to get a hug.

But look at this chart, from a CBO letter linked to in the article. People at top end of the income scale is getting a massive windfall, on the backs of people on the lower end. Oregon could and should plug the budget gap by taxing that windfall. Call it the Big Beautiful Surcharge. 3/

This drives me crazy when people act as if there is some unwritten law that we should protect landlords' investments. Yeah, it can suck when the market changes and you lose money, that's why we don't all invest every dollar we have. Why must landlords be protected from this?

This is a good example of why in an emergency you should be specific about who you delegate to get help. He just kept asking "someone" to get the doctor when he should have asked a specific person. If someone could please forward him this criticism so he can learn from next time tysm.
