Iirc people were arguing against me adding more advanced mesh import options because you could just make a child scene and make the adjustments there...

Yeah sure I'll shit up my filesystem with 3000 child scenes just so my mesh can have the right physics options.

Honestly I've had situations where godot has fallen short and I've provided a PR to fix it and I've had people in the community arguing against it and I need to justify it 5 different ways before it should be accepted... For things that should be obvious to anyone who has shipped a large game.

I think in 3d even when working in 2d, z order is just the third axis, and often more finniky than just having that axis.
