Also, it’s the most I’ve had a book immerse me in specific ways, as someone who is from the vicinity of Portland, and knows the city a little. You can envision places and encounters in these books in ways I haven’t felt with others. It feels like I could just go to everywhere described in the book.

Also, as a side, one thing I find interesting about this story in particular is how well it could lend itself to adaptation. This story could easily be adapted into one of the best TV shows ever made, and the only reason it won’t happen is because of execs. That should sadden you.

Read this series ASAP. The second book will be released soon and I gotta tell you that you need to get in on this now. While I love all of Alyson’s work, and Dorley is the transfem epic of the era, WYFFH is the grounded rom-com drama that’s so real in what it’s doing. It’s my favorite of her works.
