Same! It felt like the negativity about RoP outweighed the positivity for so long. Most of my friends from the LotR film fandom era have (so far) no interest in it (nor in the musical or LotRO), so it's nice to have a space like this...

Having survived the LotR fandom on LJ back then, I don't actually mind how small the RoP fandom is by comparison... It's kind of nice sometimes. 😅 (Although I say that as more of a lurker than a participant...)

Just enjoy what parts of it you're able to, and don't feel as though you have to force yourself to like whatever isn't to your tastes. 🤗

I'd love to see so many more Tolkien adaptations being made, but not if they're only more of the same! It's always odd to me when someone can't put aside their nostalgia for the LotR films even just enough to have an open mind about other interpretations of the material...

RoP also carries on LotRO's tradition of keeping prisoners in little carts. (I'm sure there are other similarities, but I can't think of them at the moment...)

Wherever he's been, I think Theo should somehow find him first (whether he's with the ents or not) since he's the only one Galadriel's spoken to about him on screen. I do wonder if there will be a parallel to them surviving Mt. Doom, but with Celeborn surviving the Battle of Sudden Flame...

And RoP doesn't even have the rights to the Silmarillion, so I don't understand why so many people waste time being upset that a show that's *not* based on a particular book somehow isn't 100% compliant with that book...
