Over the next 4 years, I look forward to working with all of my colleagues on City Council, whether they are DSA, DFL, newly elected, 12 year incumbents, or anything in between. We will continue to be a body that works hard and gets things done for our entire community.

I’ll be proud to support all of my colleagues in advancing a people-first agenda that is laser focused on improving the lives of all residents of Minneapolis, including the formation of a Democratic Socialist Caucus.

The voters spoke clearly in electing people from across the political spectrum to represent the diverse perspectives of our entire community, including four new council members and 4 council members that were endorsed by Twin Cities DSA.

The City Council needs to serve as a co-equal branch of government, providing oversight and accountability for the entire City enterprise. I am committed to continuing the work of building out our oversight capacity this upcoming term to set up our government for years to come.

During my time as President over the last 2 years, the City Council has been the most productive City Council in history, passing legislation with urgency to better the lives of Minneapolis residents.
