Perhaps if we had a significant redistribution of wealth so that working couples could actually afford the time & money to have kids then we’d solve the problem.

Or are swapping careers like our son in law. He believes taking five years to qualify is fine given that he is on a decent salary, has a vehicle provided and attends uni in person one day a week (6 hours of teaching time).

High quality vocational education in the form of apprenticeships up to Level 6 (degree) or Level 7 (Masters). Working for a decent salary, gaining professional experience & qualifications, no student debt, etc. Don’t understand why more young people aren’t snapping up places.
