But in the following 20-30 years it takes for the to die, their social care needs will be greater than ever before. That means more medical/care staff and NHS/council funding will be needed.

Or are swapping careers like our son in law. He believes taking five years to qualify is fine given that he is on a decent salary, has a vehicle provided and attends uni in person one day a week (6 hours of teaching time).

High quality vocational education in the form of apprenticeships up to Level 6 (degree) or Level 7 (Masters). Working for a decent salary, gaining professional experience & qualifications, no student debt, etc. Don’t understand why more young people aren’t snapping up places.
