I was at the match and was feeling pretty deflated for much of the second half.
Not a great game to watch and the result didn't help.
On the plus side a great result for Pontypool today. I bumped into someone there. He looks familiar. Can't put a name to him though.

I sometimes use vertical representations to emphasise the equals sign.
But usually horizontally and to be honest I have never really questioned why.

I had some penguins in the zoo, five escaped and now 3 are left. How many did I have to start with?

I prefer the double number line (or ratio 'boxes) if you know easily that 0.8 times one and a quarter is equal to 1.

I teach home ed students primary maths online. I spend a lot of time on area model from year 4 onwards.
It is so useful for so many things.
Today in my year 6 class I was using it to multiply fractions to find equivalent fractions.

If we taught multiplication as area from year 4 and continued the model throughout the rest of school wouldn't that be massively helpful?
