This disparity in wealth translates to a disparity in freedom. Frank is sent to prison, Jakob is not.

We look at the almost identical cases of Jakob and Frank. They were both convicted for intoxicated driving, under similar circumstances. But their financial circumstances are worlds apart– Jakob is sitting on millions of assets while Frank is sitting on a pile of debt.

Our first story focuses on class disparity: those who earn the least face harsher sentences than those who earn the most.
