I like the companion quests because they're so long, myself. Those were kinda the only actual new questing that hit that game for like a year so it's nice they were meaty.

I didn't do a single public event until I finished all the missions lol

My suggestion is to turn everything off but the OG find the overseers tapes quest, do those, then go into the stuff at the Wayward. It's pretty overwhelming at first but thankfully you can just kind of ignore all the non-story stuff till you're ready.

The environmental stuff is what they're best at, and that game allowed them to actually focus on it instead of the stuff they're not so good at (interactive narrative) and that's why it's the best one they did.

You should go back btw, it's much better now lol

You can find messages the computer that would become Eden and MODUS in 76 and they're the funniest thing in the game because even back then it was talking about how much it loved biographies of presidents and such and MODUS is doing the computer equivalent of rolling it's eyes.

It's too bad you need to listen to a bunch of Yankee doodle bullshit to hear them

Eden's radio broadcasts are pretty good.

Maybe that's the point where our universe and the fallout universe split. We didn't use the frame.

Getting one of those mods that lets you piss like in Postal and going on a tour of the Capital Wasteland...
December 1, 2025 at 8:31 PM
Is this a perfect explanation? No. But I think it's really mostly done that way for gameplay, like there being any loot left at any of these places, and just don't think about it lol
December 1, 2025 at 8:30 PM
I explain that as them having smaller, dirtier bombs.
December 1, 2025 at 8:28 PM
The most unrealistic thing in the games are that there are any of those left because breathing on them wrong makes them explode lol
December 1, 2025 at 8:27 PM
Ah but Abraxo doesn't kill everyone. It turns them into trogs. So it's another weird mutagen in addition to the nukes and FEV.
December 1, 2025 at 8:26 PM
Who knows how many abraxo sites those bombs hit, throwing that stuff into the air, carrying it across the entire country and even world?

My canon playthrough is Nate being a sarcastic, judgmental sociopath, except to the BoS who he immediately becomes a jack boot for. If the enclave was around he would have joined them instead and been Frank Horrigan 2.0.
December 1, 2025 at 8:22 PM
He said it on Twitter last year then got bullied into taking it back lol

I tapped out after less than half an hour so to be honest I'm not even sure there is lore to go over. And it being set before 4 proper might make it less interesting than Dust anyway.

When I got to the end of your Dust series and it clicked it was also a Storyteller (RIP) riff I cheered, btw.
December 1, 2025 at 8:19 PM
The guy laughing is Nate Fallout from 4, I don't care if idiots bullied the writer into retracting it.
December 1, 2025 at 8:15 PM
I just watched your FNAF stuff and it's very refreshing to see someone else that will acknowledge the answer to all the questions is "Scott Cawthon is a bad writer."

You have any plans on doing a series on the lore of Fallout Frost like you did for Dust? Loved the Dust series.

Boo

No no, it's about time someone took me down a peg.
