Sometimes the best way to think is to just let the pen wander. Today was less about "drawing something" and more about finding the balance between the ink and the empty space. A bit messy, a bit tangled, but it feels right.

Entropy Has No Memory
This is the tentative opening chapter of a novel in progress. The setting is still under review, and the entire draft is likely subject to…

Getting lost in the weave today. 🧵

Tried a study of texture using black ink and watercolor. It’s surprisingly hard to keep track of the "over/under" logic once you get into the rhythm! A good exercise for patience and shading, even if the lines are a bit loose

There’s something incredibly soothing about repetitive lines. No perspective to fix, no anatomy to get right. Just ink, water, and the rhythm of the hand. A little exercise in patience and color contrast. 🌊🖊️

Just filling the page with spheres and color today. 🔴 🔵

Sometimes you don't need a "real" subject, just the rhythm of the lines and the flow of the paint. It was a meditative way to play with volume and texture without the pressure of perfection.

Getting lost in the weave today. There is something incredibly grounding about drawing the same small texture over and over again. It’s not about making it perfect; it’s just about filling the space and quieting the mind. 🖌️✨

Zoning out with ink and watercolor today. I started doodling these organic shapes and couldn't stop filling them with lines. It became a nice little meditation on pattern and texture, rather than trying to draw something "real."

Some phone calls just need a pen in hand to get through them. 📞 This wasn't a chill conversation, and I think the jagged lines show it. It’s better to put that nervous energy on paper than keep it in my head.

Ink, yellow watercolor, and a lot of patience. 🐍

I'm not sure if I drew a snake, a dragon, or just a bunch of tentacles, but the repetitive motion of drawing these scales was exactly the brain-break I needed today.

Reading "This Is How You Lose the Time War" and had to get this idea onto paper📚

It’s a play on the characters Red and Blue. The fun part is that the drawing is reversible—there is no real "up" or "down," just reflection. Ink and watercolor in the little sketchbook🖌️

Letting the ink wander today. There is something deeply meditative about repetitive patterns—even (or especially) when the lines get a little wobbly. It feels electric. ⚡️

Ink and watercolor in the sketchbook.

Doodling dungeons today. Sometimes you just start drawing bricks and see who walks into the frame. This guy looks like he's lost his adventuring party (or maybe he is the monster?). Just enjoying the scratch of the pen on paper. 🖋️

Filling a Sunday afternoon with repetitive lines. There's something incredibly calming about not having a subject and just building textures layer by layer. The bottom part started looking a bit like teeth, but I just rolled with it. 🖋️ No plan, just ink.

I drew a friendly robot (I think?), but then I got obsessed with filling the background. There is something oddly relaxing about drawing hundreds of tiny circles until your hand cramps. 🤖🖊️

Making my own bookmarks has become a ritual. Before I dive into a new book, I draw its companion. This abstract ink and watercolor piece is helping me navigate "Writing and Selling Your Mystery Novel." Small art for big ideas. 📚🎨

First ink of 2026. ✒️ I decided to start the year with an abstract landscape. No pressure for realism, just lines, grids, and finding a rhythm on the paper. Sometimes the best way to start is just to build a structure and see where it goes.

Finally after... I don't know, 15 days?... I managed to draw a bit. Watercolors and ink, and @elizabetharo.bsky.social suggestions: the result? A slightly perplexed Cthulhu 😁

Spent all my time at watercolor class last night drawing, and none on painting! 😅 Now I'm worried I'll ruin it with the wrong colors. Maybe I should experiment with digital coloring before I move on to the real deal? 🤔
