I play lots of tabletop roleplaying games and video games and listen to way too many albums.

Haven't been on here for literally 10 months, but I saw paradisos result of the dungeon23 challenge on YouTube and it inspired me to try a dungeon26 challenge next year.

I will be documenting the process on here.

just stumbled on a real jaw-dropper of a line in an essay -- “The corollary of being interested in a great range of things is to have sympathy with a great range of outlooks” -- and that, my friends, is why reading is so important.

I have listened to Tool's 10,000 Days a few days ago and. Rosetta Stoned just won't leave my head. You'd think this is coincidence but no. I got Rosetta-Stoned because I am chosen. I am THE 10,000 guy.

Post a pokémon that isn't your favorite but still think is pretty cool

Ever sincr Black and White Gamefreak has been devouring bug type designs and I think it all started with Galvantula. He's so cool, and like, the first spider mon to actually be cool.

One thing I didn't know about Warhammer - it was written by british people as a satirical form of presenting the british government, at the time helmed by Thatcher. The conclusion this leads me to is that Thatcher is still alive, a wrong which we must right swiftly.

I just finished Symbiote by Electric Dragon.
Masterful electronic with minimal vocal sampling. It was unclear how a concept album could tell a story without a vocalist before this one. By far in the top shelf of 2023 releases for me.

Gamer: Ray tracing doesn’t exist? But the lights, the reflections looked better!

Gamedev: All in your mind. By telling you ray tracing is real we unlocked the most powerful graphics card of all. Your imagination

I mostly listen to albums that are new to me, regardless of their recency. Today I listened to Oath of Eternals by From Oceans to Autumns, an atmospheric post-rock album. Although it has occult subthemes in sampling, it's just ineligible enough to alienate you. (1/2)

I get that there some antiquated games like monopoly or snakes and ladders, but not only are board games and tactile sensation incredibly important for a childs development, but also, there's so many cool board games coming out right now! Anything by Unstable Unicorns and Secret Leaders...
Ok kids it’s a rainy day, board game time!!

What?!! You don’t want to play a game from 50 years ago with small wood pieces that slowly move around a piece of cardboard? You’d rather play fully immersive video games that stimulate every neuron in your brain?

gacha games are definitely the thing that as a critic i am the most rude online about, but i simply believe they should be regulated into non-existence, both a poison on the industry and also maybe its most honest form.

i strongly recommend the GSSB episode on Addiction By Design to everyone:

Small fun fact most people don't know - lemons are not naturally occurring. They were cultivated in india by cross-breeding a bitter orange with a citron. You can read this up on Wikipedia - the lemon is in fact younger than Judaism!

Critical thinking is an important part of analysis and review in art, but it should not supercede the human. When watching a movie, you might find it useful looking at it through the eyes of someone who would enjoy that movie before critically analysing it.

To compliment masterful craftsmanship - no other song makes me feel as physically uncomfortable as TOOL's Ticks & Leeches. I can feel their vile revulsion of carving into piece of art like meat for market demands on every pore of my body.

The last game I played with a ranked system was MTGA, but all games with ranked game modes have an entirely false narrative build around that ranked mode. This applies to LoL, Dota, CS:GO, Valoran, R6 and all other games with seperate ranked and casual queues. (1/?)

I have been reading an introduction to Ethnology and it insane how complicated the simple term 'culture' really is. Based on the newest culture term Anthropologists use, culture doesn't exist on its own. It is created through communication, and through the interpretation of that communication.

Binaries don't exist. Everything is a spectrum. One does not need to delve into any specific topic to find out that discussions about where something is in a given spectrum happen all the time.
I have really internalized this thought but I don't know what a normal person thinks about it.
