Innrømmet du nettopp at du egentlig er en sten?

Det er all grunn til uro, men ingen til nostalgi. Det er nyliberalismen som har skapt den perverse ulikheten og urettferdige økonomien som har bragt oss hit. USAs kriger og dobbeltmoral har undergravd en regelstyrt verden. Den nye tiden MÅ ikke bli mørk. Ut av krise kan vi også skape noe bedre. 3/3

With that logic it's difficult to argue Russia is doing anything wrong. They simply withdrew from the dissolution of the USSR, and are defending their rightfull Ukrainian territories. Law doesn't matter if one can deny to follow them at any point. That may be true, but at least then admit to it.

But are anti-personell mines effective at much else than making large areas unlivable for decades after the end of a conflict? Not to mention that it becomes difficult to utilise the argument that Russia and others should keep to int. law, if we our self simply pick and choose when we want to.

How is it always social spending that needs to be cut first to adjust for necessary defence investments. Increased income, through e.g. higher capital taxes would give the same result without the harm to people's living standard. Also, pretty much no one is out of work because they are unwilling.

While it certainly isn't enough, a big issue is that there are protests, they just don't get media attention. That isn't too surprising since media attention is highly dependent on the elite (and they don't seem to care), and that most social media is owned by actors supportive of the Trump regime.

Norske medier virker å tro at å slippe noen til er å sette søkelys på dem. Det er ikke det. Man bør analysere, skrive om og advare mot autoritære. Men ikke gi dem et mikrofonstativ.

(Merkelig nok klarer avisene som regel dette om ytterliggående islamister. Bare ikke om ytre høyre).
