🚨 The EU watchdog has spoken: @ec.europa.eu broke its own rules with its rushed handling of the #Omnibus I and 2024 #CAP reform, rolling back key environmental protections without:

🔎 Impact assessment or public consultation
🤐 Engaging all stakeholders
🌡️ Considering EU climate obligations

Today @ec.europa.eu released its updated Bioeconomy Strategy — but it lacks the ambition needed to align Europe’s resource use with the ecological limits of our planet.

✅ Phase out hidden fossil subsidies, keep carbon pricing predictable, and reward products with truly low lifecycle emissions.

✅ Boost green lead markets: incentives, public procurement, and support schemes should favour companies delivering climate-neutral, socially responsible products.

Europe cannot give up its leadership.

Now is the time to double down: reward frontrunners, phase out fossil laggards, and secure a socially fair, competitive path to climate-neutral, zero-pollution industry.

Recycling concrete cuts emissions, saves raw materials, avoids landfill waste, lowers costs and even produces lighter concrete. Circular construction isn’t just greener, it's the smarter choice for the industry.
November 27, 2025 at 10:28 AM
Why continue mining when we can recycle millions of cars and steel scrap?

Steel scrap can be recycled using Electric Arc Furnace (EAF), which significantly reduces emissions by eliminating the need for carbon-intensive raw materials and consuming less energy than traditional steel production (DRI).
November 27, 2025 at 10:28 AM
Clinker production, the main ingredient in cement, is the primary source of CO2 in cement manufacturing.

By replacing clinker with other materials like fly ash, slag, or other industrial byproducts, the need for this energy-intensive and carbon-releasing process is significantly decreased.
November 27, 2025 at 10:28 AM
H2-DRI-EAF is a process for making low-carbon steel that uses hydrogen (H2) to produce Direct Reduced Iron (DRI), which is then melted in an Electric Arc Furnace (EAF).

This pathway is considered a promising method for significantly reducing the steel industry's carbon footprint.
November 27, 2025 at 10:28 AM
Clean steel. Clean cement. Real projects.

Europe’s frontrunners are proving heavy industry can ditch fossils for good.

Now EU policy must turn these pioneers into the norm.

Some decision-makers want to “simplify” the laws that protect our air, water, and nature.

The problem? Once these protections are gone, they’re gone for good ❌

📢 Fresh investigation reveals €1.5 BILLION in EU funds backing meat & dairy ads with false “sustainable” claims.

Taxpayer money shouldn’t bankroll greenwashing and lies🤥

🐛 Rising from the earth: Europe’s first ever #soil law was published in the EU’s Official Journal today! 🎉

After adoption of the #SoilMonitoring Law in October, this marks the final milestone of the process and opens the door to implementation.

A first step in the right direction for our soils!

In 2014, Swedish artist Karl Jilg visualized how much urban space goes to cars🚗

Public transport deserves protection & investment. We must maintain, expand & improve it - not just replace cars, but rethink how we move. Inclusive, fair, sustainable transport is for everyone.

🚨From agriculture to energy, mining to chemicals - powerful industry lobbies are trying to weaken the Water Framework Directive, vital EU rules to protect water.

That means more pollution, less resilience, and risks to our health. All for short-term gains of a small few.

Here's what they're up to⬇️

〰️ DEMOCRATIC JENGA

After weeks of backroom talks on key green laws, MEPs have shown their hand. The centre is sidelined and the right has teamed up with the far-right to weaken core corporate responsibility rules.

The EU tower is wobbling - and unlike in the game, the stakes are very real.

Countries are still failing to commit to strong climate targets, while fossil fuel emissions hit record highs.

This level of warming would breach Paris Agreement limits and unleash a new era of extreme weather and global hardship.
