so curious how that translates internally but is 6000 homes legit just the first phase alone? Incredible if so

its such a bad cover lol

looked incredibly random, like they couldn't pick a setting or genre so just threw everything in there lol

especially as of late, you'd think there would be interest in funding such institutions as these works tell a (often forgotten) story of our national identities

the buildings look like such thick buds, do you have knowledge on the average size of the units / floorplans?
December 12, 2025 at 2:54 AM
agree!

Art Canada Institute shows an alt poster for the same commission from 1964, so going to assume around a similar timeframe www.aci-iac.ca/art-books/ar...

The Advertising & Design Club of Canada (ADCC) says they are from 1965 but logobook says the logo itself is from 1973... not sure which to believe theadcc.ca/search?searc... & logobook.com/logo/antique...

yeah def just thoughts, it being along bloor generally obv helps but certainly there must be a few spots that are similar but I’m unsure if there are equals to lees palace
December 11, 2025 at 4:12 PM
there’s also a laneway there that people (I’ve used) take from the station to that side street
December 11, 2025 at 4:09 PM
density, proximity to both people and amenities - it’s in a good spot next to a popular music venue, cinema multiple pubs/food spots, while still also being close to residents and on a side street that’s easier (safer) to cycle down than Bathurst

technical definitions are really important to ensure outcomes. The city can "turn on TSP" and say hey look, we did it and it's not working, much like transportation suggested in the article posted by OP - because their definition of TSP isn't what people are asking for
December 9, 2025 at 5:52 PM
this might seem like a non-distinction but Toronto's current definition of transit priority signalling (which is utilized city-wide at over 420 intersections) is quite literally only about extending a green time for a transit if they are approaching an intersection www.toronto.ca/legdocs/mmis...
December 9, 2025 at 5:40 PM
I think it's important to focus on whats being said - Jonathan English is advocating for a system that adapts and allows transit to override the vehicle cycle to not wait for left turns, reds, conflicting phases. The City's transportation department says "TSP is already utilized - we extend greens!"
December 9, 2025 at 5:38 PM
they are still the highest mode, including conflicting buses, but obviously I have no issues with an system that can detect a late bus and prioritize it instead if a tram/LRT car is early, I'm not binary like that
December 9, 2025 at 12:39 AM
I'm not sure how prioritizing high-est order transit negates the ability to also prioritize pedestrians or other modes? Obviously, I am not suggesting everyone is in a vehicle. I am specifically saying that the design at present is auto-centric, and should be tweaked in favour of transit/other modes
December 9, 2025 at 12:27 AM
I think we should prioritize the transit in every circumstance and schedule around the operational realities, manage headways or early trams via controlled holds at stations etc and not through a poorly designed, auto-centric system that frustrates and deprioritizes riders
December 9, 2025 at 12:22 AM
she said that, but there needs to be a definitional change of what torontos signal priority means lol because torontos transit priority still gives a lot of priority to other forms of traffic, allows the left turn cycles, etc. not what we think of as "priority" - largely elongated greens
December 9, 2025 at 12:18 AM
schedules are artificially slow because the system isn't tuned for transit-priority operations. Headway variance is a manageable problem vs adherence to scheduling. Riders should not accept artificially inflated travel times bc of headway concerns. Also shouldn't manage bunching w/ red lights lol
December 8, 2025 at 11:52 PM
this completely discounts rider experience lol - if bunching is an issue, it should be resolved independently of signal priority - transit should always be prioritized and not slowed down artificially to accommodate schedules that (obviously) conflict with operational reality

I believe it sold once between the time of WE and the city purchasing it, iirc

if your GC is under a certain amount, they should take the card and hand you the cash unless you explicitly ask to keep it loaded with like .65c
