A lot of fascism is distilling away people who aren’t prepared to stand for it. And we’re quite a long way into that process.

When I was a kid 30+ years ago we went to a theme park and here was a little remote-operated muppet guy riding round on a tricycle, stopping to chat to kids, who were all spellbound and talked to him like he was a real person. I love that this is just that for credulous adults.
