They didn't raise the cap. They implemented a cap. Grad (& now grad nursing) student Loan borrowing is capped at $100,000 lifetime, and professional student loan borrowing is capped at $200,000 lifetime. Incidentally, that's not even close to enough to get a medical student through medical school.
