Main Character Syndrome, but fun. Boston-based. My wood shop and my dogs are my personality. If you're still reading this, I'm your dad now. Sorry, I don't make the rules.

I don't speak for my employer.

this baby's-first-interpretation of middle management seems pretty instructive as to a lot of the gap that otherwise intelligent and literate people around places like bluesky have with regards to LLMs/AI more generally

if you've ever *been* a good middle manager, I think it's a lot more legible

I still have a sneaking suspicion that this isn't something that model devs have a handle on themselves, though. Every time I talk to somebody at one, it's *all* handwaving.

maybe invest in L&D, I dunno

yeah this pleasant individual is staying blocked, but uh. I have several printers and I printed to saturation in a week, it has been several weeks and the initial Whistle Drop(tm) has not been fully run through, I think it's okay to have a few colors

"men with 3D printers are all like this"
November 23, 2025 at 8:02 PM
the only multicolor I do on my Bambu printers (which I do not recommend) is single switches at a layer line. multiple colors on a single line is wasteful as hell

experimenting with using gemini-cli as a subtool for claude and great googly moogly are they behind. their built-in codebase investigator is *dumb*. if I feed it my standard codebase-investigator subskill from Claude, Gemini does a fantastic job, and on very large requests much better than Claude

okay, neuroscientist, let’s talk about the several hours of back-and-forth on plan refinement that leads to effective long runs to make useful things

I can make an “uncreative” thing in my wood shop, I call it a shelf, what now

I ran a software job overnight that took about six hours and, after review this morning: literally no changes.

but there's a reason for that.
