You can usually find me on my bicycle somewhere in Minneapolis.
INFJ + ♒. BLM. Free 🇵🇸. Fuck 🧊.
Don't forget: Things are still blooming.

I was going to post my silly little "biking around Minneapolis" picture this morning, but instead I'm still reeling from the worst instance of road rage I've ever personally encountered.

I was nearly home, walking the last few blocks as one of my front spokes snapped. I'm crossing at a crosswalk 🧵

I seem to always get drawn into the tiny parachutes of a dying dandelion. It's a gift to exhale and send each one dancing on air, resettling where it lands.

Woke up earlier than usual and got out on my bike shortly after sunrise. Views of downtown Minneapolis and the Mississippi.

Sitting in the backyard in Northeast while a live jazz band plays Bob-omb Battlefield from Mario 64 down the street.

Gotta love summer in Minneapolis.

Crossed four Mississippi River bridges this morning on my bike. Not shown: 10th Ave Bridge.

I'm seriously so thrilled to live in a city investing in more bike lanes.

Weekly bouquets from my little garden in the city is top tier Midwest summer.

Reading All The Water in the World by @eirencaffall.bsky.social in the sunroom while the rain falls outside. Climate fiction hits a little harder these days.

Somehow managed to make it through the whole week without a ride across the Stone Arch Bridge. Corrected that this morning before the heat settles into Minneapolis.

Another round of smash and grab in northeast Minneapolis. Every car in this parking lot had their windows smashed when I got to Los Campeones NE this morning. Photo of the aftermath.

Hey so...when are we going to collectively wake up to the fact that those in power will rob us all blind before happy letting us suffer and starve like the people of Palestine?

Is there a whimsical side of BlueSky? I need more reminders to touch grass.

"In my mind, this is no longer a conversation about anything else. Children are starving and being murdered in Gaza by the Israeli military while they seek to feed themselves. It feels impossible to talk about anything else in this conflict when that degree of sociopathic violence is occurring."

Perhaps controversially.

So, who amongst us recognizes that we're never going to solve big problems - climate change, democracy, equality, racism, healthcare access, etc etc - by playing in the same ol' capitalist and supremacy systems?

Everything is awful - AND the gladiolas have started to bloom and the Stone Arch Bridge is unofficially open again in Minneapolis.

I love this city so damn much.

Happy Friday from Minneapolis.

Took the extra long way this morning to spend a few minutes down by the Mississippi.

Minnesotans should all get days like this off from work (she says from her desk, longingly staring out the window).

Watching the clouds roll above the back garden. Perfect respite after a long day at work, with too many meetings and not nearly enough time to make measurable progress on my to do list.

Here in Minnesota, we spent the weekend shrouded in wildfire smoke. In Arizona, the north rim of the Grand Canyon burns. Communities flood in New York, New Jersey, North Carolina, Texas.

We've hit the climate apocalypse, whether we acknowledge it or not. (god, I wish we would)

Saw this on display at Lake Country Booksellers in White Bear Lake yesterday and had to grab it because I would love to be Neko Case when I grow up.

Made it through the epilogue before tearing up. So looking forward to this.

Worked out to Doomtree this morning. Saw P.O.S running errands this afternoon.

One of my favorite things about being back in MSP is seeing Doomtree members out and about.

Hoping it rains so I don't have to get out of the hammock to water. Although, I suppose that resigns me to sticking it out in the hammock, under the red maple, enjoying the drops.
