After taking down RetroRealms Ash vs Evil Dead, I knew I had to play through Halloween too. It's just as solid but a little easier, and I like the Evil Dead IP more. These games look great and have some replay value -- very recommend! #JustBeatIt

I ran the Nintendo Super NES Test Menu, and it glitched out as well. I'll try opening this thing up over the weekend to look for bad caps. I think I'm using an OEM power supply but I'll double check and try to swap it for another too.

Tonight's stream was interrupted because the game started glitching out. Upon some investigation, it seems my SNES is dying or dead. 😔 Some game title screens work on actual carts, and the Super EverDrive X5 menu, and the Super Game Boy 2, but as soon as you start an SNES game, it's glitch city.

I took a little break from Community but I've picked it up again and I'm astonished there was an entire episode animated as a G.I. Joe episode. Even more astonishing, Buzzkill just told me, "You live in a fascist police state disguised as democracy." Knowing is half the battle...

Lately my daughter has been saying "I'm going to help you today!" I let her push down the button on the toaster, but when I wasn't looking she also adjusted the slider. And then she tried to open the little icing packet. 😅

ActRaiser ended up being even more fantastic than it always seemed in Nintendo Power. I loved the graphics and music, and the alternating platforming and sim mechanics work are still fresh and enrich the experience. But Northwall Act 2 is ROUGH, and the boss rush is brutal. #JustBeatIt

This morning's reading is (finally) Hello Sunshine by Keezy Young. I went into it knowing very little about the story, drawn in by the art and vibes, and so far I love it and just want to curl up under a warm blanket and read all day. *glares at adult responsibilities*

I had a few things that kinda went under the radar, but the one I'm most proud of is Gamers: Attempting Connection, a middle grade novel about kids starting an esports team and finding friendship with other gamers. Kirkus liked it but there are otherwise very few reviews. ecmyers.net/books/gamers...

Finished SNES Aladdin on my first playthrough last night! Didn't get the "best" (>50 red gems) ending, but I did discover that if you leave the ending screen up for a while, fireworks appear in the sky! #JustBeatIt

Finally knocked out Mega Man X last night! Overall pretty fun and not as tough as I thought it would be, with some fantastic music and deeper gameplay (RPG elements) that I appreciate but isn't what I typically look for in a classic Mega Man game. #JustBeatIt
