Hi! My name is Early! I'm making a cartoon called a Slime at School! It's about a slimegirl named Ruby who goes to a seemingly normal school, but supernatural beings are seemingly drawn to her, making it difficult to fit in. Her friend, Mikey is dragged into adventures with her.

it was just a goof, why aren't you laughing?

Come on...

That last paragraph perfectly describes a double salt. If it's actually substituting, then it's a double salt. If it was just trapped in there and not sharing electrons like a mosquito in amber, that would be different, but a ruby is a low chromium ratio double salt.

Ruby is an extremely imbalanced aluminum chromium oxide double salt.

This means that "ruby" is not an objective thing, because it's not like, a different compound (unless the graphite electrode made the chromium a carbide, in which case, it's a triple salt).
Was trying to make a ruby, but there was too much chromium, so what ended up being made was a double, potentially triple or quadruple salt due to too much chromium.

There's a small amount of ruby on the edge, but uhh... It's not a great amount.

Aluminum is such an interesting material, because extracting it from rocks is so easy if you have a way to make hydrochloric acid (which I do), but the hard part is... well... getting alumina to become aluminum, because you need cryolite... Luckily, cryolite is reusable in the process.

Vanillin is a rare case of an organic compound that can melt without decomposing, and at a low temperature, as well.

That means I could do slow temperature reduction to cause it to crystallize slowly and make crystals rapidly.

I should bulk order vanillin and grow it on a string.

Grew two styles of vanillin crystals!

I find it interesting how ozone is self healing. If there's elemental oxygen in the air, and there object is orbiting a star, it WILL form an ozone layer, because oxygen becomes ozone due to the ultraviolet light.

Oh, interesting. I was wondering why nitrous oxide was so much worse than ketamine, despite them both being NMDA antagonists, and it has to do with how nitrogen compounds tend to be unstable, so it loses the oxygen which oxidizes the cobalt in cobalamin (vitamin B12) in the brain.

If you're watching Serial Experiments Lain for the plot, you're watching it wrong. Yes, there's a plot. You can watch dissections of it after watching it, but initially? Nah.

Go into the show realizing it's a simulation of dissociation/depersonalization. It's meant to make you feel like Lain.

If I ever go to a night club, I'll be partying like Hell right next to the fire exit. I've seen enough true horror content to not be thinking of that.

I like a good balance in how nasal Velma's voice is.

Kate Micucci is a bit too nasal for my taste, B. J. Ward is... not nasal at all, but I think Mindy Cohn was just right.

Slang terms now are just old terms, but the opposite.

"You've got the chops" (to have skill) vs "you're chopped" (to be ugly)

"I'm crashing at [place]" (to relax and eventually sleep) vs "I'm crashing out" (to lose your mind)

No one else seems to be pointing this out.

Smiling Friends is absurdism not just because it's weird, but also because of how it tackles death.

Lots of characters die in horrible ways, but also, the main concept is to enjoy life while you can, and make what you will of it.

I think it gets across a deep point without trying too hard.
