Democrats need to realize ICE isn’t just—or even primarily—a mass deportation force.

ICE is also Trump’s most loyal internal security force which will be used to attack regime opponents and try to steal the election. They should defund his authoritarian capabilities.

Remembering former Halifax bricklayer Richard Hanson, who died on this day in 1887 at the age of 62. Other interments include his first wife Mary Jane (née Richardson), who predeceased him in 1865, aged 34.
Close-up of the headstone marking the final resting place of members of the Hanson and Jones family, who were burried at Lister Lane Cemetery. The inscription commemorating family members reads: In memory of Mary Jane, wife of Richard Hanson, of Halifax, who died 30th January 1865, aged 34 years. Also of Mary Emma, their daughter, who died 17th June 1858, aged 4 years and 10 months. Also of Mary Jane, their daughter, who died 27th July 1861, aged 12 weeks. Also of the above Richard Hanson, 13th January 1887, aged 62 years. Also of John Hanson, father of the above Richard Hanson, who died 13th November 1866, aged 63 years. Also of Thomas, beloved husband of Martha Ann Jones, died August 18th 1927, aged 80 years. Also the above Martha Ann Jones, who died February 21st 1934, aged 82 years. The grave number 3556 is carved at the base of the headstone. Marth Ann Jones was the daughter of Richard and Mary Jane Hanson.
