This would go hard with an amen break. Definitely worth finishing up this track though!

Maybe not, the record corps aren’t people

Places like that are the best. I hate having to wear some dorky outfit

The tower records in LA? Either way that’s iconic

I say German followers because they bounce between the US and Germany but seem to mostly perform in Germany now.

Agreed! Excellent point.

Totally agree! I’ve come across those videos for bands like Korn, Rob Zombie, or Van Halen(DLR era). None of those bands have classically trained vocalists however in the context of their respective bands…all of them have made incredible contributions to music.

That’s the goal! Keep learning, growing, and don’t let the man win.

That’s a good mindset to have!

I remember in high school looking through this girls iPod and it had the Jonas Brothers on it and I made fun of her so much she cried. I did a lot of stuff like back then because I was insecure and of course feel ashamed now that I’m an adult.

There have been payola scandals as recently as the past decade.

My programming director never received a bribe(that I know of) but sure went to a lot of vacation destinations and fancy dinners with record executives.

My favorite one in the past 20 years was using video games as payment.

Yes! I worked for an independent station too and the libraries were so small. Classic Rock was a little under 300 songs in rotation and hard rock was a little under 400 songs. . . for the whole year!

If you’re also writing your songs it’s a non issue. If you want to get your music played on a national scale. That’s a whole other mess of worms.

When I worked in radio my programming director wouldn’t even let me play an artist that wasn’t signed to a major.

What he’s “advocating” for already exists. All I can think is that this is not so secretly a push for recording artists and labels to get a cut, which I don’t really agree with.
