To my German followers I highly recommend the band Shrouds. I saw them last night and enjoyed their set. If you like moody death rock, check them out.

Music academia, while important for preserving aspects of theory and history…also sanitizes music and makes it palatable to the sheltered and wealthy.

Went to a show and enjoyed the music but the crowd on the other hand…
I’ve been going to punk, metal and hardcore shows for almost 20 years and since 2020 it seems pit etiquette has faded away. A lot of people of smaller stature and disabled people were getting crowd killed tonight. Unacceptable.

A modern music practice that I haven’t adopted is that I don’t use any string dampening tools on my guitars. No foam, no wraps, no rubber. I don’t care what little noises get into a recording.

You rarely see male musicians acknowledge this part of the music industry but it’s true. It’s easy to address bandwagon issues or make generic “war is bad” statements. It takes real integrity to call out your peers.

One of my favorite artists I’ve discovered online hasn’t posted in a month!
It doesn’t matter if you only have a few people who engage with your art, sometimes you’re making a huge impact on those few people.

Do you know about the millennial optimism trend? The youth will sit in their cars and listen to the lumineers, Vance Joy, Mumford & Sons, etc. to put themselves in a positive headspace.

Arena concert ticket should be reversed in price. The closer the row the cheaper the tickets(with a VIP section) and the further back would be more expensive.
