In fact, the REUs provided my first relevant job experience — my foot in the door to a career in research.
Not only is the NSF REU an awesome opportunity to learn and do interesting and impactful science, it can literally be a pathway out of poverty for many college students across the world.

I’m specifically interested in greenhouse gases, ozone-depleting substances, and ground-level air pollutants.
The focus of my research is to understand emissions of these gases using atmospheric measurements and various models.

Despite stringent efforts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, California is the largest emitter of sulfuryl fluoride in the USA, according to atmospheric measurements and an inverse model.
