I almost didn’t get a tree again for the third year in a row because my cats are still too wild. But then I spotted this little table top sized tree while buying a wreath and decided to give it a whirl. Hopefully the ornament in the second photo stays at zero.

Made it out to the 34th Street lighting, but missed the actual lighting because some people decided they need to shove past us with a stroller and 50 kids right as it happened.

The cats have mostly pulled off their favorite toy so now it’s mostly just a string with a bell on it. I have appropriately named it Stringer Bell.

Made a sweet potato pie for Friendsgiving tomorrow. I’m annoyed the crust slumped into the pie on one side, but hopefully it still tastes good.

Had a quick but lovely afternoon in NYC. The weather was great. We ate lunch outside. Went to the exhibit on Black Broadway at the NYPL Performing Arts Library and then enjoyed Ragtime. Now headed home to Baltimore.

When I studied abroad in London I took a theatre class and we studied this play and saw it during its original West End run. I had planned to see the current Broadway revival but illness scrapped that trip. Luckily Everyman Theatre currently has a production too so seeing it locally instead.

The funeral home in our neighborhood gave out these trick-or-treat bags, which I used to put the candy I was handing out in. Molly has decided it is her new bed so now it lives on my floor forever.

Went to Sound Garden to buy the new Florence + the Machine album and came away with an excellent haul of used vinyl too. There may have been more but my husband cut me off and made me leave.

I broke out this inflatable ghost for the first time this year and it was a huge hit. So many kids excited by it, hugging it, booing at it, punching it. Only one little boy was scared and cried. It also served as the backdrop for a lot of family photos. May be my best purchase ever.

Molly is very good about pulling open the wardrobe doors and getting into it, but she’s not smart enough to figure out she needs to push the doors to get out instead of pulling on them like she did to get in. I always have to rescue her.

The cats are currently in a war over who gets to sleep in this cylindrical level on their cat tree. Loki was in it when I got home from work, but Molly took it back after I fed them.
