Could the folded Brompton act as a cane of sorts?

I had a package send to me from the UK with a similar arrangement: it worked as advertised.
December 5, 2025 at 9:52 PM
Does this arrangement means it has unequal length drive shafts?

I’d rather have the one for a 965: it’s one better!

I work from home, where the model trains are. However, I’m an adult (apparently) and therefore the work comes first…

I wonder if it has ever run under its own power on the Caltrain main line. It was stored in SF during electrification and then the EMUs arrived, so I don’t think it ever got used. Maybe for early training and testing at night?

What is the monthly rent for the land?

Our Mexico built 2012 FIAT 500 gave us over a decade and over 100K Miles of trouble free motoring. It was lost in a crash where its crumple zones did their job, thus totaling it, but it meant my wife walk away unharmed. As I type this we are reminiscing about it!

So many memories!

I’m happy with my Blix Paka cargo bike. They also sell non cargo bikes which are under $2000. While they do source their bikes in Asia, they are a real company (not a shady Amazon marketplace reseller), based in Santa Cruz,CA. All the bicycle parts are standard.

I’m not sure why the alert was activated here on SF peninsula, given that the quake was in Nevada…

Literal enshitification!

Why does it have a Mitsubishi logo? Is Diamond Star Motors back?
December 3, 2025 at 10:49 PM
The only way I can think of involves a hammer, so probably not what you’re looking for…

It will work for a very short time.
December 3, 2025 at 9:33 PM
Is it an Austin Allegro?
December 3, 2025 at 9:21 PM
I’m not sure I have the skills to pull it off as nicely as I imagine it in my mind. Ideally, it would be in O scale, but HO could work too…
Anyone reading this who can pull it off, please run with it!

I’ve been thinking about a diorama showing a cross section of Chicago, with the El, ground level tracks for trams or freight and the narrow gauge tunnel trains.
It could look nice as a corner piece, with the El track coming straight at the viewer, with a cutaway El car.
December 3, 2025 at 7:22 PM
That looks very nice! It does come with the matching price however…

I’m an old man: I was looking for a physical throttle with knobs and switches… I guess I can add building my own wireless throttle to the ever growing list of projects!
December 3, 2025 at 6:02 PM
That is interesting as having the flexibility to move to DCC in the future is a plus. I assume that a “WiFi throttle” is phone and app based, right?
