I make video games and wot-not.
Yeah I'll 2nd this C# is generally really good, and you can still get into lots of low level performance tuning when you need too.

Yeah that's fair, it also used to have some performance issues? But I think a lot of them have been cleared up? I should give it another try.

Neat! I can't bring myself to swap over to UIToolKit yet, it doesn't feel production ready. But I'm excited to see people starting to hammer out the quirks.

Oh yeah! that's true!

If it makes you feel better it's the old 80-20 rule at work
The farther you get into development the less big obvious things there are to do

Best way to keep moving is stay organized, setup a hack&plan board or something and make a ticket for every bit when you think of it.

I'm a big fan honestly, I think it's maybe one of those you need to know the rules to know when to break them type of things.

But it makes for a cool aesthetic!

Touching grass is important, big fan of finding a hike with a big tree or a mountain top every few weeks!

Also lots of snacks.

It happens! Best advice I have is take a break, surprisingly a lot of the time the solution comes to you on it's own.

If you're really stuck ask for some help! Especially for programmers, we love seeing how other people are doing things and sharing how we'd do it different! Haha

So after some chatter with folks on discord.... Looks like FMod is a little more indie / beginner friendly, and Wwise gives audio folks more tools / options so it's nicer for larger AA+ projects. Probably gonna roll with FMod for our stuff.

Heck yeah! I'm a sucker for anything low-poly and in space!

I wouldn't wish being a game developer on anyone, but some how there's nothing else I'd rather do.

You're 100% right about the work environment though, I'm working on something in the background to try and fix some of it, at least for a small group of people :/

Starting is always the hardest part for me, but once I get going the micro obsession takes over and the ADHD makes me twice as productive. But starting can take me forever, especially if it's not a "fun" task...
