I won't repost content often.

Academic sources for Obsidian are rare, but wonderful to find (for me at least, since finding good academic sources for the Wikipedia article for Obsidian is difficult).

Someone recently edited the Wikipedia article for Obsidian and it seemed like such an obvious conflict of interest that it baffled me.

Accidentally forgot to post it yesterday, but here is my Obsidian monthly graph view for November 2025!

Tempted to just give every attachment in my Obsidian a sidecar file in the form of a markdown file just so I can give them properties and filter them in my Bases easier.

Hopefully there's a plugin out there that makes managing that easier.

Honestly I don't give Apple Notes enough credit, the Smart Folders feature makes organization and navigation super easy to do without the limitations of a strict folder structure.

Obsidian Bases are a bit more powerful because of note properties, but I can't use it in the navigation pane :<

I have pretty much completely overhauled the Wikipedia article for Obsidian—It's gone from 14,798 bytes to 24,514 bytes in the span of two days...

Old article: en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?...
New article: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Obsidia...

Huh, weird, Bases aren't mentioned once on Obsidian's website. They mentioned Canvas there but not that?

Maybe they're waiting to develop some specific features like Bases search before adding it to the site?

Ok wow my Bitwarden needed to be cleaned up. I went from 118 entries to 86...

I love how references/footnotes in Wikipedia can be split up into categories, but oh my god trying to make edits as a beginner feels like a nightmare. I just want to add a quick note :<

For once I appreciate markdown's simplicity, even if a bit limiting for my Obsidian vault.

Checking old email accounts is so weird. I had this old password manager app I forgot about sending me like 20+ emails in a row... like chill out, I'm not using your app anymore

Getting kind of annoyed with how Bluesky won't have notification badges disappear on other devices after reading them.

Google might actually allow JPEG XL to be supported in Chromium... we might be so back

I may or may not have accidentally read an entire UI design book...

I love how Bitwarden lets me add basically arbitrary metadata to my logins and stuff in the same way Obsidian lets me do that with notes. Just kinda makes me see the folder organization in Bitwarden as lackluster when I just sometimes want to see stuff based on the other fields I set.

I should probably really get to making my personal site. It's kinda just been dead as a project..

Trying out the TaskNotes plugin for Obsidian; I've sometimes felt a bit weird about people calling Obsidian overly complex and too customizable, but looking at all of these options in TaskNotes, I understand now...

The new Obsidian importer stuff for Notion is pretty neat. I tried it out and it seemed to handle everything fairly well.

If I figure out how I want to approach project/task management in Obsidian again, this will be really useful for moving everything back into Obsidian again.

My playlists are very well designed and definitely don't feature any tonal whiplash whatsoever..

I've now run into an issue twice on Ubuntu where restarting my computer for some update or whatever has made me unable to connect to the Internet.
November 22, 2025 at 2:42 AM
Using Obsidian Bases has shown me just how powerful leaving the "organization" up to arbitrary, user-defined metadata can be.

Ugh, now I wanna make some kind of task/project management system based on those ideas.

Thymer seems like a very interesting upcoming app for PKM. I'm unsure if I'll end up using it, or if it even really gets popular, but I do like its philosophy around ensuring user control over their data while offering cloud services.

I'm loving @ente.io but I can't help but feel it won't be particularly revolutionary for me in how I organize my photos.

It's great to have a privacy focused app to begin with, but I'm curious to see how they might approach image organization features in the future.

We'll have to see...

It becomes increasingly obvious to me as to why younger folks take interest in retro tech when modern tech has become so enshittified these days.

I'm by no means a retro enthusiast, but it's getting harder and harder to ignore the problems of much of the tech we have today.

Oh shit apparently Obsidian is actively working on improving the mobile app experience.

I cannot wait to see how this turns out, because I've always found the mobile experience in inferior to desktop in most regards.
