Well The Cut Throat Trial turned out to be an excellent read…

Will you do a live legal take on it when they make the film @barristersecret.bsky.social?

TACO and a Coke anyone?
Should the company make the switch from corn syrup to cane sugar, as Donald Trump has said, this could see prices of Coca-Cola in the U.S. skyrocket.
Coca-Cola will get more expensive if it changes to cane sugar. Here's why

Thanks for the reminder @janemunday.bsky.social. Every summer, I repost this article DROWNING DOES NOT LOOK LIKE DROWNING. To date, I know of FOUR kids who were saved after someone who'd clicked on the link learnt how to spot actual drowning. Take time to read and pass on.

Obscure help wanted: why is today Wednesday?

Not why is it called Wednesday, but why did someone choose an anchor day of the week such that today is Wednesday and not some other day?

Niche UK travel thing... I just noticed that on London Underground announcements they have stopped saying 61.0.16 and now say 6.101.6

Odd

Giving the new Pulp album a first listen. It's magnificent.

Highlights so far: Grown Ups, Got to Have Love, Tina, The Hymn of the North, Sunset (am I the only one who hears echos of The Wall for that one?)

I can't wait to see them again!

Technically I didn't read it on summer vacation, but delighted that recommending @amalelmohtar.com's The River Has Roots was my first @newsweek.com contribution!

It won't even be women who aren't "female enough". It will be all women.
There are always going to be more cis women accused of being men than trans women, because of demographics. To ask for ID based on appearance is almost ALWAYS going to risk discrimination. Actually, just ALWAYS: discrimination against trans, discrimination against women who aren't "female" enough.

As anticipated, the Supreme Court's idiotic ruling is going to have a huge negative effect on cis women (this doesn't excuse the Labour Party from its cowardly refusal to legislate to correct the ruling)
