Red Hot Chili Peppers at the Hummingbird, Birmingham.
Henry Rollins was the support.
Mosh pit was like a tumble drier full of leather clad sandbags.

Also what does this do to the NEET numbers? Because I think a LOT of those emigrants are school/university leaver age.

Also this is a bit on the nose today

Precisely this. Not having "counting out" of emigration means relying on the passenger survey which is just nonsense - have you ever been surveyed?
(I have been surveyed once in over 50 years of travelling twice a year..how can that work?)

And we never discuss emigration

Interesting that all the narrative in the UK is about immigration, whilst huge changes in *emmigration* go unreported.

Some of this is a consequence of our own tolerance of intolerance.

What is the existing heating system?

i.e. I can own two houses or I can cultivate a friendship circle such that if the roof were blown off my house my friends would put me up until the roof were repaired. It seems that the latter is more efficient.

I have been in the fortunate position of having "enough" for about 2 decades now but if my income stopped now I would be on my uppers within the year. I think the idea that you can insulate your life from all outcomes by assets rather than by connections is why some people don't think they are rich

The UK is a weird thing where it is very common for individual apartments to be individually owned but for the whole block to be controlled/ruled by the management company...if the whole block were owned by the same company then roof mounted air to air units would make most sense?
November 18, 2025 at 11:16 AM
I thought the planning rules on air to air had changed?
bsky.app/profile/dunc...

If you are really stuck an indoor monoblock with two vents is usually allowed...
Exciting changes coming in the UK heat pump market from May 29th as the planning regulations pertaining to them are changed. The following in particular are important:-
• One-metre within boundary restriction is being removed
• Volume Limit Increased
• Air-to-Air Heat Pumps now included

"Part Hangout" is precisely why I am no longer allowed to do Yoga in my shorts.

It has had a very good effect in that it works best if you give it detailed comments about what you want the code it generates to do - comment first coding!

I find it makes me more productive until suddenly it doesn't ... when it hallucinates a method name that is not in the framework nor in my code base and I spend ages hunting for it.

Not quite yet..but the Crypto one has.

The stink around the pig farms can choke you...how they ever got planning permission.
November 18, 2025 at 8:45 AM
Indeed. It doesn't get one bit easier, does it?
