I used to proclaim I was not a dark lord, but we don't know her anymore. You probably know me from FFXIV or that stick figure game we don't talk about anymore either.

she/her; still a bisexual disaster.
Surprisingly, Florida is actually all party recording, apparently. So I guess that is why we have to.

Do you have the name of the MyChart one? I ask because we use Epic and a plugin for MyChart and provider AI transcription goes against my understanding of how MyChart works and I do informatics.

I'm not going to say AI transcription isn't a concern, but based on my experience with doctors, I don't think it's widespread.

They think there's better tools without LLMs.

The licenses for these products are expensive. They require monthly subscriptions. Cheaper than a scribe, but expensive.

Most importantly:

Our facility requires a one time written consent from a patient for the provider to use AI transcription (and imo, any medical provider with a compliance dept worth a damn will do the same) as there is a recording device in the room.

You can refuse and they can't use it.

For what it's worth - I work in a medical facility that offers AI transcription. Our experience:

- less than 10% of our providers use it. I work for a large multi-specialty clinic.

- when we offered trial period, a lot went back to Dragon Medical One because AI transcription was not as effective.

Also the fact that Chanuka is the only Jewish holiday many non-Jews know and that that’s only because of its proximity to Christmas is… not great! If people want to honor Jewish culture they should learn about it on its own terms and not in reaction to Christianity

Florida only pays if your employer won't, and they only give you $15/day. For a lot of us, that doesn't even cover the cost of gas to get to/from the courthouse and your lunch.

My employer only pays for 30 days then you're forced to use PTO. You're screwed if you get a long trial case.
