YES!!!!! OH MAN! I feel this ALL the time, and it's not just the animation but often the music that goes with it for me as well. I often describe it as "synesthesiac" because I don't know how else to describe it. It's literally like a physical sensation that you can feel. Yesssssss

I love when Porky is dropping dogs from buildings and asking if his cat is schizophrenic and threatening to blow people’s (er, ducks’) heads off, but I also love this era where he’s just a little guy. The stilted vacancy in these screenshots (drawn by Chuck Jones) is incomprehensibly charming to me

It’s such a shame how underdiscussed Clampett’s career as an actual animator (andeverythingelsehedidnotfrom1942-1946) is, because his drawings are SOOO cute and appealing. I didn’t realize just how much weight he and Chuck were pulling in that department until revisiting these shorts

My boarding/artistic process has changed SO so much for the better when I started dropping in the quickest, ugliest, awful, chicken-scratchiest thumbs! It helps get rid of that roadblock perfectionism and forces my detail oriented brain to see the bigger picture. I even do it for regular art pieces

It's a different, more specific connotation than just an exaggerated drawing. He's a whiz

Hawkins' animation is great because you can feel the neuroses slopping off of his characters he animates (and is why he's such a perfect match for animating characters like Woody Woodpecker and Daffy). His drawings feel like the physical manifestation of the characters' mania.

Accessibility :) blind and people with low visibility use the internet too! bsky.app/profile/star...
Blind folks would be able to scroll pics if their screen readers are able to read the ALT text. Also, it's good for people with other disabilities such as autism because it can give needed context on what the poster thinks is important about the image. It really does help a lot.

How exciting!! I just saw the film for the first time myself earlier this year, it's so charming and engaging! I wish I would've seen it as a kid--you're doin' 'em good!!

I genuinely love these stupid, stupid, deeply stupid comics so so much and am very glad to hear someone else talking about them. They melt my brain in the most beautiful way. Godspeed 🫡
