Face cards are wetlands - if you fall Prone in one, you get Slimed, and entering one while on fire will put it out.
Number cards are just regular dirt.

Take a look at our card grid now: See how the Bow scavenger is taking cover from the Artillamander's barrage behind the forest of trees?

This works for the monster, too - check out the Artillamander in the graphic:

The Knives and Fire Lance scavengers are Close to its Mouth and Belly Cannon, but Near to its Tail and the Back-Gatling Gun.

The bow scavenger is beyond even a Far range from their allies or the Artillamander.

So, in MG2e, you lay out a 6x6 grid of faceup playing cards. Scavengers and nuisances (little monsters) go on top of the cards. Monsters get their own card (or cards, for really big ones), that sit at the corners of 4 cards.

In the Before, these trees were green. Now they are red, orange, purple, blue, and their needles are sharp and hard. Their bark turns aside any axe, and their fruit is toxic to all but the hardiest of creatures.
