It took me WEEKS to move my entire Google Drive and Google Photos (+videos) archive to Proton Drive + NAS just so I can cancel Google One and stop giving them money without losing data.

And I needed a tool to help me restore file dates from Photos/Videos, so I made one!

Switched to Opera as a web browser because it's 2025 and neither Chrome nor Firefox have split-screen tabs

I just posted a new blog about how to bring new ideas to life (and how not to):

so one of my neighbors, idk who, has recently gotten a new wifi router that's been completely ruining mine with channel interference. 🤬

Hopefully my manual settings work, but it's seriously ticking me off that this ISP thought "let's grab max signal max width and ruin everything for your neighbors"

Every year my company joins the Great Cycle Challenge and it's a great way to raise money and exercise at the same time. 🤗

I've cycled 4.5 miles (7.2km) today!

I'll donate $10 per mile myself. Will you match my donation? 💗

I wrote about my experience with AI the past few months, and how GPT-5 brought it full-circle.

The blog post I've been trying to write for months; here it is, finally.

call me crazy but i think "great writers" do the actual writing themselves
Every time you type a fresh prompt from scratch, you're burning time & creativity.

Great writers don’t just know what to ask AI - they build systems for how they ask it.

Modular prompting = faster output, sharper tone, consistent results.

No more prompt roulette.

Have professional software developers in their twenties and thirties all heard of Extreme Programming (first published in 1999)? en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Extreme...

I really liked the word "vibe" whilst it lasted, but alas, "vibe coding" may be the cringiest name for a new technology I've heard since the Metaverse

If I've been quiet here it's because I'm dealing with double de Quervain's tenosynovitis.

It sucks, and I've barely or not been able to do any of my hobbies, or work.

Idk how to explain at this point, but seeing generated images take over every of our visual cultures makes me immensely sad. I don't think people have an idea of how much of a disaster it is. People have normalized it so easily, too.

For a guy who's obsessed with going to Mars, Elon Musk sure is canceling a lot of STEM funding. How does he think we'll land on Mars if not through science, engineering, and medical advancements? Duct tape and memecoins?

I keep thinking about that Battlestar Galactica quote.

All of this has happened before, all of this will happen again.

The idea that story-driven games aren’t replayable is so strange to me. I eventually bounce off every multiplayer game because I get bored, but I go back to story games again and again just like rewatching a favorite movie, or to experience something new

I hope that the CO who said he admired Elon Musk back in 2018 is feeling pretty embarrassed right about now

(I said I admired Sony, which was made fun of)

Sent in 4 CFPs for conferences this year, and all of them got rejected. I think that's just part of the process though. There's only so many spots open and I don't have any reputation built up.

But even if I did, I believe rejection is just a part of speakership! No reason to be discouraged.

The main argument against DEI is that it means mediocre individuals are preferred above the most capable candidate, but the opposite is true.

W/o DEI & anti-discrimination action, the ppl who get hired are the ones alike those in power, whilst the excellent are passed over for being different.

I can't shake this horrible sinking feeling, along with a deep-seated rage, after witnessing Musk do the nazi salute, and then seeing the excuses.

I feel sick.
